Verdicchio
dei Castelli di Jesi
Denominazione d'Origine Controllata
According to Greek
mythology, the person who discovered wine is thought to be
Stafilio, Bacco's son. The name of the village Staffolo
could derive either from Bacco's heir or from the Greek "stafilč",
which literally means "bunch of grapes".
The great care taken
in the conservation of this "wine culture" today
allows us to present Salmągina. The natural lay of the land
in a part of our vineyard, the best selection, the shrewd
cultivation, the careful pruning together with the finest
choice of the seasons crop wich is harvested at exactly the
right moment, enhance the qualities of this wine.
Furthermore "soft" pressing is carried out
immediately in wooden crates. The grapes are then fermented
at a rigidly controlled temperature, matured in large vats
and then bottles.
All this elements go
into the making of this cherished wine. The typical
characteristics of Verdicchio are maximumly expressed in
this wine making it a captivating, first class blend.
